June Table Talk
At the June social, Steven Kidd, Chief of Science and Resource Management at Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve, delivered a presentation to the members on importance of marshes. He also touched on several other topics of concern to the local ecology. The presentation was very informative and well received by the NSFA members.
Attached are three photos which indicate a scope of presentation as well as attendance of members.
After reviewing the area the park covers, (a lot of fishing spots) he went into some of the projects the Park is involved in and with what other agencies they work. The impact of "global warming" and the rising sea levels was another key topic discussed and how this impacts marshes and what they are looking at as solutions.
Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve is a part of the National Park Sysem. Steven is son-in-law to members Patty and Mitch Fields.
